The Webster Centre is a unique facility located in the Annex of the Robertson Library Building at the University of Prince Edward Island. It provides a central place for resources and people committed to the academic success of students, the professional development of faculty, and the integration of complementary programs that support teaching and learning.
The Webster Centre partners with UPEI's Student Services, the Centre for Life-Long Learning and other campus groups that provide academic support programs. Their input and partnership has allowed the Webster Centre to maximize the use of resources to better identify gaps in services and to thereby create strategies that more closely target demonstrated areas of need. Island Studies Journal (ISJ) is a scholarly journal dedicated to the inter-disciplinary study of our “world of islands.” Published twice a year (May and November), the first issue appeared in May 2006. Editor-in-chief is Dr. Godfrey Baldacchino, Canada Research Chair in Island Studies, based at the Institute of Island Studies, UPEI. The international Editorial Board is made up of island studies scholars from over 50 universities and institutions.
In May 2009, Island business-owners had the opportunity to discuss practical business management approaches in difficult economic times at a symposium presented by ProfitLearn PEI.
LAUNCH - A Symposium for Growing PEI Business took place at UPEI and featured a stellar line-up of speakers, including Arlene Dickinson, CEO of Venture Communications Ltd., and sole female judge on CBC TV’s popular show Dragons’ Den; Elizabeth Beale, President and CEO of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council; and Doug Hall, CEO of Eureka Ranch, author and star of NBC’s “The Inventor.”
Organizers hope this will become an annual conference.
Dr. Kyhm Goslin (Education) will deliver a keynote address to the Atlantic School Board Trustees - Governing Schools Toward Improvement - in January 2010. Attendees include school trustees and superintendents from the Maritime provinces.

The PEI Regiment Partnership is a partnership between the University and the PEI Regiment to organize and promote a public speaker series focusing on military and defense policy for Canada. The mission is to raise the profile of Canadian Defense policy in the public discourse. Speakers include Lt-Gen Lewis MacKenzie and General Rick Hillier.
The L.M. Montgomery Institute liaises with on-campus groups and organizations in the greater community in order to further its goals of research and education. Two groups with which the Institute works on a regular basis are the Heirs of L.M. Montgomery Inc. and the L.M. Montgomery Heritage Society.
The Institute collaborates with a variety of community partners to research and develop a wide range of activities, festivals, theatre productions, L.M. Montgomery conferences, Seawords creative writing workshop, and a web-based General Store.
More than 700 people from over 150 countries around the world are members of the Kindred Spirits electronic mailing list dedicated to the discussion of the works and life of L.M. Montgomery.
