About 10 per cent of UPEI’s student population come from over 50 countries around the world, including many from the Middle East.

UPEI was pleased to be the host of the 2009 AARAO Interchange Conference which took place June 3-5, 2009, and brought over 125 Atlantic Canadian high school counsellors, admissions officers, recruitment, and registrars' personnel to campus.

UPEI's Registrar, Kathleen Kielly, serves as the Vice-President of the Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AARAO).

AARAO's mandate is to promote the communication among, and professional development of, its members.

AARAO recruitment activities are designed to provide students, parents, teachers, guidance counsellors, and others with accurate, concise information relating to post-secondary opportunities in Atlantic Canada. Although it is understood that a level of competition is inherent, AARAO believes that through co-operation we provide the best service to our clients.
