Dr. Sheldon Opps and Dr. Derek Lawther, Associate Professors in the Department of Physics, are involved in regular high school outreach, visiting grade 11 and 12 science students across Prince Edward Island. They use this opportunity to share information about the UPEI Physics program and describe the advantages of co-op education. They also emphasize the potential career opportunities that are available in the field of Physics. In addition to this outreach, Opps and Lawther are spearheading a campaign to enrich the current high school science physics program on PEI. This will target exceptional students who would like a more challenging curriculum, better preparing them for future university-level Physics courses.
