Lighting up the world in Research

The University of Prince Edward Island’s size and sense of place are assets when it comes to research and scholarship. Our small size allows us to be an incubator for new ideas, and the people we need to bring these leading-edge ideas to fruition are just next-door or down the street. Our research at home, and in Asia, Africa, the Americas, and elsewhere, addresses important issues of community, health, and environment, and builds on a confidence that comes from a sense of knowing who we are at home. Our professors working hand in hand with students, industry, governments, and NGOs — doing work that matters in the real world: THIS is research at its best.
